Ohio University appoints interim senior vice provost

Ohio University announced Tuesday that it appointed an interim vice provost for enrollment management after the former vice provost stepped down.

Candace Boeninger will begin her new position on Sept. 16, Executive Vice President and Provost Chaden Djalali said.

Boeninger has a history in both undergraduate admissions and at OU. She has been an employee at the university’s Office of Undergraduate Admissions since 2002. She formerly served as the associate vice provost for strategic enrollment management and director of Undergraduate Admissions, which she held since Oct. 2016.

“With a keen understanding of the challenges of an uncertain admissions environment in the higher education landscape, I am grateful for Candace’s expertise and dedication to our University as she undertakes this critical, interim role,” Djalali said in a press release.

Former senior vice provost Craig Cornell recently announced that he will be stepping down in order to take a similar position at Radford University in Virginia. He will begin his new position Oct. 18.
