Ohio will continue Mid-American Conference play this weekend with two pivotal matches against Akron and Buffalo that could shuffle the standings in the MAC East Division.
The Bobcats (7-5, 2-2 MAC) will travel to Akron for a rare Thursday match on the road against the Zips at 7 p.m. On Sunday, Ohio is back at Chessa Field for a match against Buffalo at 1 p.m.
After splitting its first two weekends of MAC play, Ohio has a chance to sweep win back-to-back games. Akron split both weekends of MAC play, too, and holds a 3-4 record at home this season. Buffalo, meanwhile, is 1-3 in MAC play and has lost three matches in a row.
The Bobcats are currently tied for sixth place in the conference with six points and have an opportunity to leap into a top-four position, which guarantees a home playoff match for the MAC Tournament.
With only six points separating Ohio from first first place, two wins could go a long way toward boosting the Bobcats long-term position in the MAC standings.
