Soccer: Ohio looks to build on momentum from six-point weekend

The Bobcats are coming off a much-needed six-point weekend of Mid-American Conference play and will look to extend their winning streak with two more conference matches this weekend.

Here’s everything you need to know:

Thursday’s Opponent: @ Miami (3-11-1, 2-5-1 MAC)

-Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m.

-Miami is currently 11th place in the MAC and will be fighting to preserve its slim chance at making the MAC tournament

-The RedHawks have only won one match at home this season

-Miami has only scored eight goals this season and has been shut out 10 times

-Ohio hasn’t lost to Miami since the 2015-16 season and has won two of the last three meetings between the two

Player to watch: Senior forward Olivia Winnett, who is Miami’s leading scorer with three goals

Sunday’s Opponent: @ Ball State (12-4, 6-2 MAC)

-Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.

-Ball State is comfortably in second place in the MAC with a three-point lead over Buffalo in third place

-The Cardinals are 7-1 at home this season

-Ball State has outscored their opponents 26-11 this year and has only been shut out four times

Player to watch: Junior Nicky Potts from Nuneaton, England, leads Ball State with six goals and has scored four game-winners this season

Notes on the Bobcats

-Ohio’s six points last weekend lifted it into a tie for fourth place in the MAC. The Bobcats are tied with Central and Western Michigan with 13 points.

-A fourth-place finish or higher means the Bobcats will play at least one more match at Chessa Field this season

-Ohio is 9-6-1 overall and 4-3-1 in the MAC. It is 3-3-1 on the road.

-The Bobcats have scored a 28 goals this season, but they have conceded 22

Player to watch: Alivia Milesky, who leads the team with seven goals and has netted two game-winners
