Series history

Ohio leads the all-time series with Akron by a large margin, 44-19. The Bobcats have gone on lengthy win-streaks over the Zips several times and are currently on a three-game streak. In that streak, Ohio has beaten its opponent by an average of over 10 points each time. The Bobcats have won 10 of the last 11 games against the Zips since 2015.

Players to watch

Akron forward Dawson has been a key addition to the Zips. She comes from the No. 1 ranked junior college team and is averaging 13.4 points per game this season. Ohio has never played against her before and at 5-foot-11, she could present a matchup problem since Burris will likely have to guard Reinoehl, who is 6-foot-2.

For Ohio, watch out for Cece Hooks. She has scored at least 25 points in each of her last three games and accrued 31 points in Ohio’s last matchup with Akron.
