Travis Scott and Kid Cudi released a collaboration called “The Scotts,” and audiences are loving every second of it.
The song premiered April 23 in Scott’s special “Astronomical” partnership with the popular video game Fortnite.
The duo called their group by the same name, The Scotts, because of Travis’ stage name and Kid Cudi’s real name, Scott Ramon Seguro Mescudi.
Though this isn’t the duo’s first collaboration, it’s arguably the biggest. People are responding really well to the outro, which features a calming, almost transformative sound using synthesizers. The rest of the song features an intense rhythmic, almost military-like sounding drum with a beautiful melody line.
Both artists have achieved great fame, and Scott has always talked about his admiration for Kid Cudi. In a 2016 interview with Rolling Stone, Scott said, “In my whole career, all I wanted was acceptance from Kid Cudi. I don’t care about nothing else! This dude saved my life. He kept me from doing a lot of f----- up s--- to myself, kept me on the right path. That’s why I make music, that’s why I go hard for the fans.”
