Bike worth $2,900 stolen from Athens Bicycle during break-in

Athens Bicycle, 4 W. Stimson Ave., was robbed during a May 16 break-in.

The suspect entered the business through a side door on the first floor, and the only item stolen was a black and dark purple TREK Fuel EX 7 mountain bike worth approximately $2,900, Peter Kotses, Athens City Councilman and owner of Athens Bicycle, said.

Kotses posted on Facebook about the missing bicycle, saying that this was the first time the shop has been broken into in 22 years.

The bicycle has yet to be recovered, and no suspects have been reported.
