Due to the coronavirus pandemic, a lot of events have been canceled or rescheduled. However, some organizations and Athens groups are adapting to the Ohio stay-at-home order and hosting events online through virtual services, like Zoom and Microsoft Teams. Here’s a list of some events still happening this week:
Friday, July 3
Off-road Park Open Ride at 12 p.m., hosted by Athens County Crawlers. The open ride, which lasts until Sunday, July 5, at 12 p.m., invites Jeeps, trucks, buggies and side by sides. Motorcycles, four wheelers, fireworks and firecrackers are not permitted.
Admission: $20 per rig for one day, $30 entire weekend

Saturday, July 4
Yoga in the Park at 9:30 a.m., hosted by Athens Yoga. As restrictions are lifted, Athens Yoga is able to start teaching classes again. Teachers will rotate, and information on how to pay each one is available on the Facebook page.

Defend Our Community — Athens in Solidarity with Black Lives at 12 p.m., hosted by Showing Up for Racial Justice Ohio. The Athens community will come together at College Green and acknowledge the struggles of Black Liberation and show support for a world in which the health and safety of Black people is a priority. Masks and proper social distancing measures are encouraged, and some free masks will be available.
