High School Football: Nelsonville-York seeks third straight win at River Valley

Nelsonville-York (2-2) is looking for its third straight win Friday night at River Valley (0-4). While it may seem like a break for the Buckeyes after playing four teams that entered the game with a winning record, they aren’t taking their next opponent lightly.

Head coach Rusty Richards has emphasized to his defense the strong run game that the Raiders possess. Stopping the run will be even more difficult this week due to the loss of senior defensive lineman Christian Wiseman, who broke his foot in last week’s game.

Offensively, the Buckeyes are still looking for a consistent performance that lasts the whole game. Last week, they were hindered by correctable mistakes, like turnovers and penalties.

Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
