Sylvester Stalone set to star in ‘Suicide Squad’ sequel; Battle of the Bricks has been canceled

Today is Monday, November 16, 2020. Here’s what you need to know:

Good morning,

Happiness is among us. Not only is a follow up to Suicide Squad set to be released, but Sylvester Stalone is also the latest to join the cast.

The news was revealed when James Gunn, the franchise’s director posted on Instagram regarding the excitement and hype.

The post read, “Always love working with my friend @officialslystallone & our work today on #TheSuicideSquad was no exception. Despite Sly being an iconic movie star, most people still don't have any idea what an amazing actor this guy is."

The sequel is scheduled to be released in 2021 with a striking lineup of actors. Former actors from the 2016 film have been confirmed to return including Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, Joel Kinnaman as Colonel Rick Flag and Viola Davis as Amanda Waller.

Both Stalone and newcomer Idris Elba’s roles in the film are to be announced.
