8 Netflix movies to watch for Valentine's Day

It's February, and love is in the air. Get in the Valentine's Day spirit with a tried-and-true classic movie night. Whether your valentine is a significant other, friend or yourself, Netflix has a film for everyone to enjoy.

Make the movie theater come to you. Load up on your favorite snacks and get cozy. Are you stuck on what to watch? Here is a list of eight Netflix movies for inspiration:

A Walk to Remember

A high school play brings two unlikely people to grow to be more than friends. Jamie (Mandy Moore) is shy and academically focused. On the other hand, Landon (Shane West) is the school residential bad boy. Their worlds collide and a romance blooms, but not without tragedy nearby. Make sure to have tissues on standby.

50 First Dates

50 First Dates features the well-loved duo of Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore. This feel-good romantic comedy follows ladies' man Henry (Adam Sandler) as he falls in love with Lucy (Drew Barrymore), a beautiful art teacher. There's just one catch: Lucy has short-term memory loss and cannot remember anything that happened the day before.

Someone Great

The Netflix Original, Someone Great, isn't your average romantic comedy. The movie starts with a breakup. Moving to San Francisco, Jenny (Gina Rodriguez) is heartbroken. She rallies her two best friends for a final crazy adventure around New York City. Someone Great is perfect for celebrating Galentine's Day or for your next girl's night in.

To All the Boys I've Loved Before

To All the Boys I've Loved Before is a teen romance about two teens who don't want to fall in love. Lara Jean's (Lana Condor) secret love letters are mysteriously mailed to each of her crushes. Things start to go haywire and before she knows it, Lara is fake dating the school dreamboat, Peter Kavinsky (Noah Centineo). If you like the first, there is a sequel on Netflix, and a third movie releasing Feb. 12. Watch all three and make it a movie marathon!

My Best Friend's Wedding

My Best Friend's Wedding is everything you need in a classic 90's rom-com. Julianne (Julia Roberts) and Michael (Dermot Mulroney) are childhood best friends. Their marriage pact is approaching its expiration date but is ultimately broken when Michael announces his engagement to a young college student. Julianne realizes her feelings for him and vows to sabotage the wedding at all costs.

Silver Linings Playbook

Pat (Bradley Cooper) begins to rebuild his life after spending time in a mental institution. He lost his job and wife, and now lives with his parents. Pat wants to reconnect with his wife, until Tiffany (Jennifer Lawrence) comes into the picture. Then, things get complicated. Silver Linings Playbook has won many awards, including multiple Academy Awards and Golden Globes. Critics loved this movie, as will you.

Michael Bolton's Big Sexy Valentine's Day Special

This one technically is not a film; it is a Netflix Original comedy special. Nonetheless, it had to be included for those looking to laugh this Valentine's Day. The plot centers on Santa's elves making too many toys for Christmas. So, Michael Bolton must be in a Valentine's Day special to encourage couples to make love. That way, there will be enough children for the toys Santa is making. If you're looking for a silly musical and raunchy comedy, try Michael Bolton's Big Sexy Valentine's Day Special.

Set it Up

Cue another Netflix Original romantic comedy. Set it Up is about two stressed and overworked assistants (Zoey Deutch and Glen Powell). They are reaching their breaking point and decide to work together. To get their bosses off their backs, they try and make them fall in love. How will it end? Guess you'll have to watch to find out.
