Which Phoebe Bridgers song you are based on your zodiac sign

Phoebe Bridgers is known for her skeleton suits, guitar smashing skills and, above all, her heartbreaking lyrics that seem to evoke a shared sense of melancholy.

After a pandemic-induced delay, Bridgers announced a tour in July to support her second LP, Punisher, which gained a cult following for its relatability during a time of worldwide unrest. While Bridgers’ lyrics feel deeply personal despite being so universally loved, there are some songs that may resonate with others differently. Here’s which one of Bridgers’ masterpieces you are based on your sun sign:

Aries (March 21-April 9): “Kyoto”

You’re the fiery leader of the zodiac, Aries. As such, it’s only fitting you’re one of Bridgers’ most angsty tracks. While Bridgers is known for some of her more somber, sad songs such as “Motion Sickness” and “Smoke Signals, Kyoto” is a culmination of Bridgers’ anger and resentment toward her father. Her lyrics are complemented by blaring trumpets and a much bolder instrumentation than many of the other songs on Punisher. Lyrics such as “I’m gonna kill you” and “I don’t forgive you” have probably been screamed by all hotheaded Aries at one point or another.

Taurus (April 20-May 20): “Garden Song”

You’re absolutely one to romanticize your life, Taurus — as you should! You’re a grounded, fixed Earth sign who visualizes a life full of your greatest desires. Similarly, Bridgers’ “Garden Song” has the singer looking toward the future and envisioning a time where things are better. Bridgers closes the song by singing “No, I'm not afraid of hard work / I get everything I want / I have everything I wanted,” and it’s the perfect reminder for you, Taurus, to keep yourself on the path toward your best life.

Gemini (May 21-June 20): “Halloween”

This you, Gemini? “Halloween” is a simple yet haunting track, making it just about as complex as you. Bridgers sings of a relationship in a precarious place, where her partner gets sick of her questions and, at times, seems to be wearing a mask. It grows tiring for Bridgers, who begs her partner to be whatever they choose for Halloween, though it ultimately seems as though they cannot decide. For better or worse, Gemini, you’re all over the place, and this track simply illustrates the worst.

Cancer (June 21-July 22): “Graceland Too”

Oh, Cancer. Bursting with love and nurturing tendencies, you’re the mother of the zodiac, even if it’s to a fault. You’ll do anything for your loved ones, just like Bridgers will in this track. Bridgers sings about a friend leaving a psych ward on “Graceland Too” and how she will do whatever she can to support this individual. No matter how big or how small the need, Bridgers will do it to see her friend happy. Accompanied by fellow boygenius members Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker, this track screams of the beauty of true connection, and it’s bound to move any Cancer to tears.

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22): “I Know The End”

You’re a star, Leo, and you know it. Bridgers made waves when she smashed a guitar live on SNL while performing this song, and that act alone is pure Leo energy. And who’s surprised? Bridgers is, in fact, a Leo. Looking at the song itself, “I Know the End” is full of references to American culture, such as outlet malls, UFOs and slot machines. Those references — partnered with the idea of travel established in the opening lines — encapsulate this fire sign’s love for adventure and all things within pop culture. With a loud conclusion that truly sounds like the end of the world is here, “I Know the End” is a show-stopping track to round out Punisher and to emulate Leo’s draw to the spotlight.

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22): “It’ll All Work Out”

You know what you want and need, Virgo, and you’ll take the most practical road to get there. “It’ll All Work Out” is a cover from Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, but the straightforward nature of this somber song hits just as hard as any original song by Bridgers. Bridgers sings of how she let down a partner when they needed her the most but dismisses it quickly, singing “That's the way it goes / It'll all work out.” Quick-witted and eager to assess a situation, you know what’s best for you, Virgo. You trust your gut (and for good reason!), and it truly will all work out for you due to your analytical nature.

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22): “Georgia”

Ruled by Venus, you’re quite the romantic, Libra. However, that doesn’t mean you’ve got blinders for the bad in those around you. Like Bridgers in “Georgia,” you’re drawn to romance, but your indecisive nature and ability to see a situation from all sides can sometimes make you hesitate. Bridgers sings of being in love with Georgia’s son on this track, but she still has some reservations. She explores the relationship from all sides, admiring the man’s resilience, wondering if he’d fall for her and questioning if he’ll ever feel at home with her. The track closes with brutally vulnerable questions that would surely haunt any Libra in Bridgers’ shoes.

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21): “Killer”

Shocker much? Bridgers gets honest with her feelings of darkness on “Killer,” and the track’s juxtaposition between the vulnerable and the dark is the perfect encapsulation of you, Scorpio. From the beginning, Bridgers admits that she feels like a killer, diving into her death as a way to cope with those emotions. Scorpios may have a thick shell to protect themselves from the outside world, but this water sign will open up around the right people. This is the type of vulnerability your best friend always wants you to have, Scorpio. Take notes.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21): “You Missed My Heart”

You’re one for adventure, Sagittarius, and the tale of “You Missed My Heart” is quite the ride indeed. Although “You Missed My Heart” is a cover, Bridgers makes this dark track feel entirely her own. “You Missed My Heart” is a culmination of the spectrum of human emotions, ultimately ending with a murder. It’s wildly entertaining and sure to keep this fun-loving fire sign on its toes.

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19): “Chinese Satellite”

You know what you know, Capricorn, and you’re suspicious of anything else. “Chinese Satellite” delves into the complexity of religion, with Bridgers admitting she wants to believe but feels nothing. Pragmatic and rational, this Earth sign may also struggle to grasp what they cannot see. Capricorns will feel seen whenever they listen to this haunting track.

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18): “Savior Complex”

You’ve got a lot going for you, Aquarius. You’re fundamentally different from the pack and always willing to fight for those around you who are struggling. It may not always work out well for you, but you stick it out, much as Bridgers does in “Savior Complex.” The track has Bridgers exploring how she’s trying to save a partner who is clearly flawed beyond her attempts to help. Despite all the bad they’ve been through, Bridgers can’t help feeling attracted to them. You’re a fighter, Aquarius, and this track will remind you of which battles to pick and choose.

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20): “Motion Sickness”

Not only has Bridgers mastered making relatable tracks, but she’s made tracks that are movie-ready, too. “Motion Sickness” was featured numerous times in Netflix’s film Someone Great and can be found on a nearly infinite number of “main character energy” playlists on Spotify. With your dreamy nature, you’ll immediately feel enchanted while listening to this track on a walk, Pisces. As a water sign, you’re also deeply emotional and will simultaneously be able to appreciate the vulnerability of the lyrics found beneath the instrumentation of this track.
