The top 25 Caamp songs, ranked

Caamp is the quintessential fall band. The folky indie/bluegrass band is of the greatest listens to get in the autumn mood. Their raspy, welcoming sound is the best for romanticizing your walks to class as you stare at the leaves and acorns falling all around you.

Caamp makes every song feel emotionally driven and always creates lyrics for the soul. Whether you’re new to the band or have been listening for a long time, anyone can appreciate their soothing sounds. Listening to Caamp makes you feel like you’re around a fire with friends, with a burning food aroma and the chill of fall in the air. That being said, here are 25 of Caamp’s greatest songs for the season:

25. Song for a friend”

This song reminds us of creekside hikes and finding rocks to skip. It instantly gives you chills and anybody will love the chorus, it’s what makes the song worth it.

24. “Mockingbird Song”

This song is a joyful, rejoiceful ballad about being proud and not letting life get you down. The upbeat tempo makes you happy to be alive and makes you remember that life is worth so much.

23. “Send the Fisherman”

This track says “everything’s gonna be okay” If you're feeling stressed, this song gives off care-free vibes. Although the lyrics surely don’t exhibit that at first, showing that we’re all on a sinking ship, but coming around to say, it’s okay we’ve been here before.

22. “Penny, Heads Up”

This is just a simple song that makes you happy. It can relate to really any emotion, but mostly the good memories that instantly make you joyful. It’s a little reminder that luck is on your side.

21. “Strawberries”

A slower jam, this one requires a steady and listening ear to simply just understand the whole grasp of the lyrical content. This one is a little bit somber, but it’s more bittersweet than a tear-jerker. It makes you think a little about life and the people you care about.

20. “Of Love and Life”

This one never fails to be sentimental and heartfelt. It details the best and the worst of feeling in love and knowing that you’ll always be there for the person you love most. At its best, it feels like being on top of the world and ready for anything.

19. “So Long, Honey”

Sappy and reminiscent, this song makes a lot of feelings emerge, the feeling of waiting for someone to come back to you for various reasons. It can also be nostalgic, as you relate the past memories you share with a person you care about.

18. “Ohio”

For obvious reasons, this song would resonate deeply with any Ohio University student. The beautiful chorus calls, “Ohio, treat me well.” This song is the perfect ballad for newcomers and for current residents. It makes anybody miss their hometown, however, not just Ohioans.

17. “By and By”

This one is nostalgic in the best ways. It makes you look back and think of the time that you lost with someone you really loved.

16. “All the Debts I Owe”

For whatever reason, I can’t shake the feeling that this song is like a very long car trip. It starts out very energetic and fast. Then slowly, it turns into a tiresome plea or a tearful goodbye. The song is a good breakup song (if you need something to scream or shout in your car) or if you just feel like having a good cry.

15. “Keep the blues away”

This 2019 track is light-hearted in sound and lyrics, which is respectable because it speaks on keeping away the blues and making the most of life. This song is basically free serotonin and it can make you come out of any slump.

14. “Square One”

One of the best singles, this new tune makes for a peaceful and relaxing feeling. Anybody can relate to the message, and it feels like you have someone to pour out your emotions to and rest with, especially if you’ve had a long week.

13. “Fall, Fall, Fall”

The harmonies on this song make it so worth the listen. A blissful call to a life in the future in which a haven may exist, and everything is peaceful. The song is also calling us to fight for that future. Overall, the song just makes you feel inner peace and secure in your view of your ideal future.

12. “26”

Can I say it enough times? This is sappy and romantic; it’s hope for a future with a person you love very much. The lyrics, “What do you say when we’re 26 / get married just for kicks” is a remark on trying to make life with the person you love.

11. “Iffy”

“Iffy” is a heartfelt sob song about the lack of strength and the reliance on love you can feel after you lose somebody you love for whatever reason. The chorus is powerful and perfectly states the overall message of feeling lost after love ended. If you’re ever feeling lost after a breakup, this song makes for a great listen.

10. “Common Man”

A look at a shared feeling of love, and knowing that everything comes with patience, especially love. The song explores a common feeling of love and time passing by. It makes you really think about all the times where you were waiting on love or it hit you in the face.

9. “Misty”

Understandably, this is one of Caamp’s most well-known songs. The chilling delivery of the lyrics makes this one instantly relaxing to listen to, but also, very familiar and warming in a way.

8. “Peach Fuzz”

This is another fun song with a catchy riff and lyrics that make you feel like you’re falling in love. Truly, this is the most uplifting song they’ve released, it’s so fun to sing along to or just listen to on walks.

7. “No Sleep

This is the dancing song;  it makes you want to move. With a fun little guitar riff, some carefree lyrics and a hard-hitting chorus, it makes for a night car ride song or just something to jump around to with friends.

6. “Feels Like Home”

A bit slow at the beginning, you would think this song might be a little bit shallow, but keep listening. When the second half comes in and lead singer Taylor Meier starts to scream, “I need time” it makes the song worthwhile and the only feeling is being alone in space.

5. “Wolf Song”

This one is a love song that reminds you of the fondest memories you had with someone you love. But, it might be a little painful if you listen to the lyrics, as Meier states in the chorus, “I’m always thinking of you / always thinking I could love you more.” Basically, he’s insinuating that you could do more for your significant others, or love them more.

4. “Vagabond”

More likely than not, this is the song that attracts people to the band. “Vagabond” makes a pronouncement of feeling restless, and it’s very sentimental in that way. The song takes off after the “yip” and it makes you feel so nostalgic and happy.

3. “Down the River”

This song isn’t instantly heartbreaking, but give it time. The lyrics are heartfelt and well delivered, which makes it all the more heartbreaking. Plus, the story is something that is applicable to so many situations.

2. “I Keep Going”

This song is one you can’t help but feel empowered by. It’s a strong message to just keep going and to not look back. Whenever you need something to listen to to get you out of a slump or depression, this song will do it.

1. “On & On & On”

This track deserves No. 1 because it radiates everything that Caamp is. The aimed feeling of the song is dancing with somebody that has been on your mind forever or the feeling of just being in love. The chorus, “I’m yours / On and on and on / I’m yours” makes you feel just lifted off your feet with emotion and pure satisfaction.
