Soccer: Ohio prepares to host Toledo on Sunday

Ohio travels back home after a two-match stint on the road to face off against Toledo on Sunday.

It won’t be an easy match. Toledo (7-2-2, 2-1 Mid-American Conference) is currently fourth in the MAC standings, and its only loss came in overtime against Kent State on Thursday. Ohio (6-3-1, 2-0-1 MAC) hasn’t lost a conference game yet this season, but Toledo poses a credible threat.

Here’s what you need to know ahead of Ohio’s match against Toledo:

Match Information and Notes

Opponent: Toledo

Venue: Chessa Field

Time: 1 p.m.

  • Toledo has scored 17 goals this season, the third-most in the MAC, and averages 11.6 shots per match. On defense, it has allowed just five goals, the fewest in the MAC.
  • Ohio is 3-9 against Toledo since 2010, with all three wins occurring during coach Aaron Rodgers’ tenure.
  • The Bobcats and the Rockets haven’t faced each other since 2019. In that match, the Bobcats shut out the Rockets 4-0.

Player to watch: Midfielder Olivia Dault is only a freshman but leads the Rockets in goals and shots on goal, with five and 15 respectively. She scored the Rockets’ only goal in their overtime loss to Kent State.
