A look at the weekend:
A weak high-pressure system will dominate the Athens area Friday, continuing into Saturday. Temperatures will remain cold to start the weekend following the passage of a cold front Thursday. Winds will shift from the south, which will bring warmer air to the area on Saturday. Another cold front will cross the Athens area Sunday, dropping temperatures again and creating a chance for rain.
Highs throughout the weekend will be in the upper-40s on Friday and mid-50s on Saturday and Sunday. Lows will be in the upper-20s to low 30s.
Coming up next week:
Rain chances linger into Monday, but following the passage of the cold front, weather in the Athens area will be calm and dry for Thanksgiving travel. High pressure will remain over Athens for the remainder of the holiday week, making for a dry and pleasant week. Highs will be in mid-40s for most of the week, with lows in the upper-20s to mid-30s.
