OU announces bonuses, pay increases for 2022, 2023

On Thursday, Ohio University announced bonuses for 2022 and details for salary increases in 2023.

OU has approved a one-time bonus for faculty and staff in 2022 due to ending the fiscal year with a surplus of funds, in addition to merit-based salary increases in 2023.

Eligible full-time employees will receive a $2,000 bonus, and part-time employees will receive a prorated amount. The bonus was approved by the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, or AFSCME, 3200, according to a university news release.

Salary increases occurring during Fiscal Year, or FY, 23 will apply to employees hired before Jan. 1, 2022. Additionally, administrative employees who have already received a salary increase on or after Jan. 1, 2022, are not eligible for a raise, though exceptions may be granted.

A raise pool amounting to 2% of salary for all eligible employees will be created and subsequently distributed to those who earn a salary increase. An additional 0.5% may be set aside for dean, vice president and vice provosts.

Merit-based increases will be based on faculty and staff performance reviews. Faculty promotion pay increases are as follows:

  • $6,000 for portion to associate professor

  • $9,000 for promotion to professor

  • $4,000 for promotion to associate lecturer

  • $6,000 for promotion to senior lecturer
