Hockey: Division II to play Louisville in first round of TSCHL tournament

Ohio is on the road this weekend for the Tri-State Collegiate Hockey League Tournament. 

The Bobcats, who are No. 6 in the American Collegiate Hockey Association Southeastern Division, are No. 1 in the Northeastern Division of the TSCHL. They’ll head to Columbus, Ohio, to play for their first championship since 2018.

Last time out 

The Bobcats swept the Cardinals in mid-November in Bird Arena, although the first game did end in overtime. Ohio won the extra time and took home a 3-2 win. The next day, Ohio took home a 4-2 win sans overtime. 

Things to note 

  • Neither team made it out of the first round of the tournament in 2022. 

  • Louisville has won three of the past 10 TSCHL Tournaments.

  • Ohio completed a 20-win regular season at the end of February, highlighted by wins against Miami, Ohio State, and last year’s tournament champion, Indiana.
