OUPD receives report of sexual assault

Around 6:30 p.m. Thursday, the Ohio University Police Department sent a university-wide email detailing an alleged sexual assault on campus

The alleged assault, which was reported anonymously, was reported to have taken place in an unknown OU residence hall at around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday.

OUPD received the anonymous report from an unnamed hospital stating the person who reported the sexual assault told a nurse they had met the suspect uptown. They said the suspect then followed them back to their residence hall and used force to have sexual intercourse, according to the alert.

The report did not specify which residence hall the alleged assault took place in. Due to the anonymity of the report, OUPD is unable to investigate further at this time. To report information regarding this incident, contact OUPD at 740-593-1911 or police@ohio.edu
