Baseball: What to know for Shawnee State

Ohio will get another chance at a Tuesday night victory with a matchup against Shawnee State at Bob Wren Stadium. The Bobcats have been unable to win a single midweek game all season and are now presented with their best opportunity to do so versus an NAIA school. 

Ohio is coming off getting swept in a three-game series against Indiana last weekend. Playing a very good team, Ohio fared decently and almost snuck out a win in game one. 

Here’s all you need to know before Tuesday’s game:

Series History 

Ohio took on Shawnee State on three different occasions, and it won all three times. The two’s most recent matchup came in April 2018 when the Bobcats took home a 6-5 win in extra innings. 

Player to Watch 

Billy Adams — The freshman infielder appeared in his first games since returning from injury against Indiana. Adams had not played since Ohio’s series with Central Michigan in mid-March. Against Indiana, Adams tallied one hit in each of the two games in which he appeared. On the season, Adams has a .315 batting average with 10 RBIs in 15 starts.
