Eastern Michigan Notes:

The Eagles are coming off a close win at home against Miami to pick up their second MAC win. They were able to secure the win with a great defensive performance led by Tarya Eke, who put up six blocks in an incredible defensive performance. The rest of the team also did its job, holding Miami to just 30.4% shooting from the field.

In both of its MAC wins, Eastern Michigan held its opponents to under 50 points; it will be key for Ohio to stay in a groove scoring the ball.

Player to Watch: Tayra Eke

Eke has been on an absolute tear as of late for the Eagles. Since MAC play started for Eastern Michigan, she has averaged 13.8 points per game and 9.8 rebounds per game over five games played against MAC opponents. Ohio’s lack of size has cost them in games against teams that can deploy their height in effective ways both on offense and the boards. Ohio could be in trouble if they cannot contain the 6-foot-three-inch center.
