D2 Hockey: Ohio and Louisville faces off in the first round of the TSCHL playoffs

Game information

Opponent: Louisville

Location: Queen City Sportsplex (Cincinnati, Ohio)

Date: Feb. 9 at 9:15 p.m.

Regular season recap

Ohio (18-5) closed its regular season on a six-game win streak and a 4-2 win over Dayton. With victories over Indiana, Miami, and Kentucky, the Bobcats have shown that they can compete with some of the best teams in the TSCHL.

Louisville (19-12) struggled in the middle of the regular season but finished with four straight wins to sneak into the playoffs. The Cardinals struggled against the better teams in the TSCHL with losses to Ohio, Kentucky, and Miami. That hasn’t stopped them from squeaking out wins.

Series history

The Bobcats and Cardinals have faced off twice this season already. In November 2023, Ohio swept its two-game series with Louisville. Both games started slowly, but the Ohio offense would take control in both games winning the first 3-0 and the second 4-3. Louisville was able to show it could keep up offensively in the second game but still fell short of victory.
