Morehead State notes

The Eagles added a new head coach this season, Feldhaus. She moved to Morehead after being the head coach at Missouri Western for the 2024-25 season only. In her time in Missouri, her team went 20-10 overall and 14-5 in the conference. She brought with her Sepp and Toffali from Missouri Western.

Sepp averaged 12 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game last season. She was also a player for the Estonian National Team at the European Championship in 2022. Toffali, a shooter from Villasanta, Italy, shot 78% at the free-throw line, averaging 9.1 points per game.

There is only one returning senior this season for the Eagles: Kate Dike. She averaged 4.4 points and 4.4 rebounds per game in 28 games last season. During a 5-26 overall season last year at North Florida, junior Ekstrom only made one start and had a 45% success rate in 3-point range. Pearson, junior, made 21 starts last year, averaging 46% from the floor.

The Eagles opened their season with a losing battle against No. 20 Kentucky. Their offense started out hot, but ultimately came up short. Sepp led the team with 8 rebounds and 21 points, including 8 field goals and 3 free throws. The team had 16 turnovers, with 10 occurring in the first half. Kentucky had 54 rebounds over Morehead’s 33 rebounds.

The second and most recent game against Bellarmine came with a win. Forbes led with 22 points, with Toffali coming close with 20 points. The offense stayed hot throughout the game and powered the Eagles to an 84-68 victory.
