Not over it
Athens County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a call on state Route 329 in Guysville due to complaints of an ex-girlfriend driving past their residence and repeatedly honking her horn during the night.
According to the complainant, the individual drove past the residence several times. Deputies took a report and offered the caller several ways to resolve the problem.
Saturday, Dec. 6
Big fight
Deputies of the Athens County Sheriff’s Office responded to Bassett Road in Athens due to a report of battery.
At the scene, law enforcement spoke to those involved and concluded that both juveniles involved engaged in disorderly conduct. Deputies informed staff members to contact the local authorities from whom the juveniles were court-ordered.
Too many warrants
After the Athens County Sheriff's Office received 17 municipal court warrants for Christin Clements, deputies proceeded to Brawley Road in Stewart to arrest her.
Once deputies responded to the residence, Clements was taken to the Southeastern Ohio Jail without incident.
Sunday, Dec. 7
Threats and work struggles
Deputies of the Athens County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to May Avenue in Chauncey due to a report of a threat.
Once deputies responded to the residence, the caller informed them of their coworker's ex-husband, who had made threats toward them.
No physical altercation occurred, and officers searched for the other individual involved, but were unable to locate them. Other parties were reported to have left the scene before deputies arrived.
Runaway recovered
Athens County Sheriff’s Office deputies took a report of a missing/runaway juvenile on Sunday.
It was determined the juvenile was staying at a residence in Franklin County and was refusing to return home.
The juvenile was entered into the database, and deputies located him later in their shift. The juvenile’s mother met them and took him back home.
Missing horses?
The Athens County Sheriff’s Office was called due to a report of horses in the roadway on state Route 681.
Deputies were dispatched to the area to patrol and did not locate the horses. They traveled to the nearest farm to check on their livestock, but were not able to contact the owners.
Monday, Dec. 8
Surprise arrest
Deputies from the Athens County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of property damage located on West Clinton Street in Albany.
Once on scene, deputies spoke to all individuals involved and concluded no property damage was caused. Before deputies left the scene, dispatch informed them of a warrant for an individual involved with the Meigs County Sheriff's Office. They met with Meigs County deputies to serve the individual with his warrant.
Verbal dispute
A domestic dispute was reported Monday on state Route 682 in The Plains. Once Athens County Sheriff’s Office deputies reached the scene, they were informed both individuals involved in the dispute were verbal, with no physical contact or threats exchanged.
Deputies stayed at the scene while one individual gathered belongings and left with a family member.
Tuesday, Dec. 9
You can’t park there
Deputies from the Athens County Sheriff’s Office responded to Smith Street in Chauncey due to a report of a parking issue.
Workers in the area said a resident was preventing them from completing their work because of the resident’s parked car. Deputies arrived to find a truck with a trailer attached in the middle of the road. They made contact with the truck owner and advised them to move their vehicle.
Who let the dog out?
The Athens County Sheriff’s Office reported to Main Street in Millfield due to a call of a neighborly dispute.
Once units arrived at the scene, they determined the dispute was because of canines running loose onto an individual's property.
Both individuals were warned for disorderly contact and were told not to contact one another in the future. The case was referred to the Athens County Dog Warden for any future follow-up.
Wednesday, Dec. 10
A little embarrassed
Deputies from the Athens County Sheriff’s Office responded to Roy Avenue in The Plains due to a report of a woman demanding a man pay for prostitution.
Deputies spoke to the caller, who said the woman was not at his residence and was asking for a gift card via text message. Deputies asked to see the messages, but the complainant did not wish to share and no longer needed assistance.
Thursday, Dec. 11
It’s over
Athens County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the intersection of Poston Road and Industrial Drive in Athens due to a domestic complaint.
Once on scene, deputies spoke to the complainant, who stated she and her boyfriend were having a verbal dispute when he pulled over and told her to exit the vehicle.
The complainant said she only wanted a ride to her residence. After deputies spoke to the man involved, they determined nothing criminal had occurred, and they drove the woman to her home.
