Alex Cooper, Alix Earle drama splits internet opinions

The Ale(i)x’s are officially feuding. Following growing tension between Alex Cooper and Alix Earle, Cooper took to TikTok to officially call out Earle on their alleged beef.

Cooper started in the podcast scene under the ownership of Barstool Sports, with her show “Call Her Daddy.” In June 2021, Cooper left Barstool with the podcast’s intellectual property and ended her partnership with her co-host, Sofia Franklyn.

That same year, Cooper signed a three-year, $60 million exclusive deal with Spotify to distribute her podcast. On August 8, Cooper announced the launch of her own network, the Unwell Network.

The podcast network was set to focus on shows for Gen Z audiences, initially bringing in Gen Z influencers Madeline Argy and Earle. Earle started the show “Hot Mess with Alix Earle” under the Unwell Network’s umbrella in September 2023.

The pair was regularly spotted out together and worked together without any reported issues until February of 2025. Speculation began rising of a feud between the pair when Earle did not attend the Unwell Network’s Super Bowl Party in New Orleans.

Later that month, Variety reported that Earle’s show had been dropped by the Unwell Network and gave Earle all rights to the podcast. In March, Earle announced that the podcast was going on hiatus, saying that she was unable to discuss the details of what was happening with the show.

For the rest of the year, both Cooper and Earle took slight jabs at each other online without directly addressing the situation. In response to a comment asking Earle to address the Cooper situation, Earle replied, “How much time do you have?”

Cooper subtly responded to that comment as well, quoting Earle on an Instagram caption to a video set to Britney Spears’ “Circus,” which Earle danced to on "Dancing with the Stars." The year finished out without any public acknowledgment of what happened behind the scenes.

In February of 2026, Earle brought back the feud after liking an Instagram post from Cooper’s former “Call Her Daddy” co-host, Sofia Franklyn. Franklyn announced her upcoming memoir on February 25, titled “Daddy Issues,” seemingly planning to tell all about the situation of Cooper leaving Barstool and taking the podcast with her.

Earle, along with her sister Ashtin, liked the announcement on Instagram, which ended the buildup before the conflict exploded in April.

On April 9, a TikToker under the username “TheBravoMom” complained about Cooper’s treatment of women, and how she profits off women in their most vulnerable moments. TheBravoMom compared Cooper to the Grim Reaper, saying that Cooper wants her guests to sign away their lives for her exclusive interview.

That day, fans noticed that Earle had reposted the anti-Cooper TikTok, which was quickly brought to the attention of Cooper. On April 13, Cooper responded with a TikTok of her own, telling Earle to get specific and say whatever she has to say about her. Earle commented on the video within hours, saying, “Okay on it!!”

Earle has yet to publicly address the drama as of April 21, but she has made several posts acknowledging Cooper’s video. On April 15, Earle posted a TikTok of her friends waking her up after Coachella with the news that Cooper had posted a TikTok about her.

The day prior, the drama expanded beyond Cooper and Earle when Cooper’s former boss and owner of Barstool Sports, Dave Portnoy, made a video addressing the drama. Portnoy claimed that it most likely stemmed from a Carl’s Jr ad that Earle had allegedly gotten over Cooper.

Later, Portnoy debunked his own claim on the “Chicks in the Office” podcast. According to Portnoy, Cooper told him that she would have never done the Carl’s Jr. ad, even with “a gun to my head and $10 million in a bag.”

Portnoy later speculated that the drama most likely stemmed from a contract issue of Earle’s podcast under Cooper’s Unwell Network. On April 15, Cooper brought another Barstool Sports employee into the drama, Brianna LaPaglia.

LaPaglia, better known as Brianna Chickenfry, was called out on a series of Instagram stories by Cooper, claiming LaPaglia was adding onto the pile without ever meeting Cooper. Cooper claimed that LaPaglia was going online to call Cooper a “mean girl” and that Cooper was going to be “destroyed.”

LaPaglia responded on her “PlanBri Uncut” podcast on April 19, doubling down on her words and calling Cooper the “mean girl final boss.” She addressed Cooper’s Instagram stories and said, “It’s not me versus you, babe. It’s me and the whole world versus you.”

The online world still anxiously awaits Earle’s response, which continues to be teased on her TikTok. It looks like Cooper and Earle both have a long year ahead of them.
