Police Blotter: Arrests made, scam calls

Friday, April 17

All good here

Athens County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to Nelsonville after receiving a report of a woman yelling for help. 

When deputies arrived at the scene, they spoke with the woman, who said she was fine and was not yelling.

Turn that down

Deputies of the Athens County Sheriff’s Office responded to Carol Lane in The Plains after a report of loud music in the area. 

Deputies patrolled but did not locate any loud music.

Saturday, April 18

Car damage

Athens County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to High Street in Glouster following a damaged vehicle report. 

The caller told deputies someone tampered with the car’s radiator hose, and fluid was leaking out of the car. 

The caller also told deputies she was not sure how much damage was done because it was a new car. There were no witnesses or surveillance tapes.

Arrested

Deputies with the Athens County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to state Route 56 in Athens to locate and arrest Parker Lehmann. 

Lehmann had several warrants out for his arrest. Upon locating him, deputies took Lehmann to the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail. 

Sunday, April 19

PlayStation theft

Athens County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to Alderman Road in Millfield after receiving a theft report. 

The caller told deputies someone stole around five of their PlayStation 4 games.

Yeah, seems like a scam

Deputies of the Athens County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call about a potential scam. 

The caller told deputies she was receiving phone calls about buying gift cards to receive a brand new truck. 

Deputies took a report and told the woman not to give out her information on the phone. 

Monday, April 20

Warrants of the week

The Athens County Sheriff’s Office has warrants of arrest out for Tommie Jimmison and Jason Carter. 

Carter is wanted for probation violation: conspiracy. Jimmison is wanted for engaging in a pattern of criminal activity, as well as the illegal cultivation of marijuana. 

Anyone with information on either individual is to contact the Sheriff’s Office immediately. 

False alarm

Deputies with the Athens County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Family Dollar in Coolville following an activated security alarm. 

On the scene, deputies determined the alarm was tripped by an employee opening the store. 

I guess there are worse things to be doing

Athens County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to Jacksonville after reports of a verbal dispute between mother and son. 

The dispute was reportedly caused by the son staying up too late working on his college credit plus homework. 

Deputies spoke with all involved parties on the scene, and the mother agreed to take her son to school. 

Tuesday, April 21

Arrested

Deputies with the Athens County Sheriff’s Office received a tip regarding an active warrant, stating the individual was near Old State Route 78. 

Deputies arrested Clayton Garrison for an active warrant out of Butler County, Missouri.

Scam texts

Athens County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to Elm Rock Road after a report of an incident regarding concerning texts. 

Deputies patrolled, and no issues were found. It was determined the texts were a scam. 

Wednesday, April 22

Just give me my wallet

Deputies of the Athens County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to Enlow Road in Albany regarding an inactive property dispute. 

The caller told deputies they would leave after they got their wallet back. Deputies returned the wallet and resumed patrol. 

House alarm

Athens County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to Birge Drive in Chauncey regarding a residential alarm. 

On the scene, the homeowner told deputies they had activated the alarm by accident, and there were no issues. 

Thursday, April 23

Egg that car

Deputies of the Athens County Sheriff’s Office spoke with a man who wanted to report his car being egged. 

A statement was taken, and deputies filed the report. 

Runaway

Athens County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to Toledo Street in Glouster regarding a runaway juvenile. 

Before deputies arrived on the scene, they were told the child had been found. Deputies were able to make contact with both the juvenile and their guardian. 

The juvenile was returned, and the deputies documented the situation.
