AEP Ohio is assessing customer power outages in Athens, after more than 1,200 customers reported a power outage around 1:30 p.m. Thursday. The power outage is expected to be restored at 5:30 p.m.
AEP crew members are investigating the site to determine the cause. The reason for the power outage is currently unknown.
A map showing the location of the power outages stretches from uptown Athens to about 10 miles east.
