Weekender Briefs: Baseball, Earth Day, finals prep

Tuesday, April 21

Ohio Baseball plays against Northern Kentucky at Bob Wren Stadium at 6 p.m. 

Admission: $3-7

The Union Bar, 18 W. Union St., hosts its weekly game night. The downstairs bar opens at 4 p.m. Bingo is from 6-8 p.m. Trivia begins at 9 p.m.

The College of Arts and Sciences is hosting Vincent Phillip Muñoz from the University of Notre Dame as part of its distinguished speakers series for his talk “What Should We Celebrate When We Celebrate the Fourth of July?” The talk will take place from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in Walter Hall 135.

The Center for International Studies is hosting “An Evening with Moradok Mai” celebrating Thai culture in the Glidden Hall Recital Hall from 8-9:30 p.m, with light refreshments served at 7:30 p.m.

Big Run Kava Bar, 72 N. Court St., is holding its weekly open mic night, hosted by Savanna Rion from 7-9 p.m.

Blush is hosting its monthly “Ladies Open Mic Night” at The Union. Sign-ups begin at 7 p.m. and music begins at 8 p.m.

The Athena Cinema, 20 S. Court St., is screening the film “The Shepherd and The Bear” for Earth Day at 7 p.m. Dr. Brooks Kohli from the Department of Biological Sciences will give a pre-show talk.

The Office of Sustainability is hosting an Earth Day celebration in the Grover Center atrium from noon to 2 p.m. The event will include tabling from student organizations and a pop-up thrift store.

Alden Library is hosting zine making from 4-6 p.m. in room 251.

Rural Action is hosting the “Earth Ball” fundraiser from 7-10 p.m. at the Zenner House, 30 Utah Place. The event includes live music from the Eric Ransom Band, drinks and hors d'oeuvres.

Big Run Kava Bar is hosting a tarot night with Lacey Jae from 6-8 p.m.

Admission: $10 per reading

Housing and Residence Life is hosting “Kaleidoscope,” a day of music, food and more at Pawprint Park from 6-10 p.m. The event includes musical performances by Nico Day Sister, Airbag, Lounge Club, CAMEØ and TentFergus as well as free food.

Alden Library is hosting a s'mores and popcorn event from 3-5 p.m. on the second floor near Café Bibliotech.
