Football: What to expect at a home game in the 2026 season

As Ohio football prepares for its 2026 fall campaign with hundreds of new students eager to attend games and support the Bobcats in their fight to the Mid-American Conference Championship, it is important to know what to expect while attending a game at Peden Stadium.

All students at Ohio University receive free tickets to every Bobcat football game. Students can go to ohiobobcats.evenue.net and sign in with a student email. Students can easily download tickets to any upcoming sporting event on campus.

Now that a student has their tickets, they can enter Peden Stadium; however, as with any place, there are rules to follow.

There are many items prohibited at Peden Stadium, ranging from food, drinks, weapons and animals. For security reasons, all bags are checked by security upon entry.

After entering the stadium and finding seats in the O-Zone student section, located in sections 111-112 next to the Marching 110, the game begins. If a student gets to the game late and finds the student section full, they might head over to OU’s historic “Victory Hill,” behind the eastern endzone.

While the game is underway, Ohio University requests cooperation by positively supporting the participants and officials. Profanity, racial or sexist comments or other intimidating actions directed at officials, players, coaches or team representatives will not be tolerated and are grounds for removal from the stadium. The throwing of any objects onto the field is also prohibited.

It is 100% encouraged to join in on the chants and cheer on the team while showing pride for the Bobcats.

Ohio has six home games in the upcoming season to attend, starting Sept. 12 against Jacksonville State University.

Just two weeks later, Sept. 26, Ohio is back at home against the Stonehill College Skyhawks for its final game before MAC play begins. On Oct. 10, the Bobcats’ MAC home opener and homecoming game is against the Central Michigan Chippewas.

Ohio returns to Peden Oct. 24 to face the Eastern Michigan Eagles, and then the Bobcats close out the regular season with two straight home games against the Ball State Cardinals and Toledo Rockets.

The Bobcats won 13 straight home games dating back three seasons, which is the second-longest home winning streak in all of college football behind the Indiana Hoosiers.

This historic home-winning streak would not be possible without Ohio’s loud and patriotic fans packing Peden Stadium every home game.

New Ohio students or longtime Bobcats can still be a part of supporting Ohio on Saturdays. Tradition has grown over the years, and it starts on Frank Solich Field. To be a part of this, Athens faithful and Ohio students must all follow the rules to help make sure Peden is still one of the hardest road stadiums to win a game in the entire landscape of college football.
