Social media harassment
Deputies of the Athens County Sheriff’s Office responded after an individual in Albany said they were being harassed via social media. The individual was told to block the harasser and to report them to the social media platform.
Trespassing
Athens County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched after receiving a report of someone trespassing on another person’s property. Deputies on the scene took a report.
Deputies were later able to locate the trespasser and gave them a trespass warning. Deputies cleared the scene and resumed patrol.
Domestic dispute
Deputies with the Athens County Sheriff’s Office dispatched to Washington Road in Albany following a report of a domestic dispute. Deputies on the scene spoke with all involved individuals and determined the dispute was only verbal.
It was also determined that all parties were safe and no physical abuse had occurred. Deputies cleared the scene and resumed patrol.
Saturday, September 5
Raging
Athens County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the GoMart on State Route 56 after reports of a road rage incident. Deputies made contact with all involved parties, but the incident occurred within the Athens Police Department’s jurisdiction, so APD took over the case, and sheriff’s office deputies resumed patrol.
Stop fighting, you’re ruining the vibe
Deputies responded near Toledo Avenue in Glouster after receiving reports of a couple “arguing and disturbing the peace,” as per the sheriff’s office media release.
Deputies located the couple and told them to separate, pending persistent disorderly conduct charges if the fighting continued.
Not the car!
Athens County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to Hebbardsville Road following a report of a vehicle being broken into. When deputies arrived on the scene, they spoke with the owner of the car, who said nothing was stolen.
A report and photographs were taken. At the time the media report was released, deputies were waiting for video footage of the incident.
Sunday, September 6
EMS assistance
Deputies with the Athens County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to Bean Road in The Plains to assist EMS in taking a man to the hospital after overdosing on methamphetamines. The man was taken to the hospital.
Arrested
The Athens County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit, on patrol near New Marshfield and Waterloo Township, located a woman who had an active arrest warrant out for Aggravated Possession of Drugs. The woman, Kendra Guess, was arrested and taken to the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail.
Another arrest
Deputies of the Athens County Sheriff’s Office responded to Alton Street in Albany after receiving reports of a dispute. Deputies on the scene made contact with Brian Whitcraft.
Whitcraft had an active warrant out for his arrest. He was subsequently arrested and taken to the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail.
Monday, September 7
Warrants of the week
The Athens County Sheriff’s Office has arrest warrants out for Christopher Hill and Brandi Konkler.
Hill is wanted for having weapons while under disability and possessing criminal tools. Konkler is wanted for theft, criminal trespassing and failure to pay child support. Anyone with information on either individual should contact the sheriff’s office immediately.

Deputies with the Athens County Sheriff’s Office responded to U.S. 33 by State Route 682 following a report of a shirtless man pushing a grocery cart in the road.
Deputies on the scene located the man and determined he was having a mental health crisis. The male was taken to the hospital for evaluation.
Neighborly hate
Athens County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to Elm Rock Road in Nelsonville following a report of a neighbor dispute. Deputies on the scene spoke with all involved parties. A report was taken.
Tuesday, September 8
Bad driver
Athens County Sheriff’s office deputies were dispatched to The Plains area following a report of a reckless driver. Deputies in the area patrolled, but did not locate the driver. Deputies took a report of the incident and resumed patrol.
Dogs on the loose
Deputies of the Athens County Sheriff’s Office responded near Old U.S. 33 and Swartz Road near Shade after receiving a report of two dogs running along the road. Deputies were unsuccessful in locating the dogs.
Reported burglary
Athens County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to Carr Road in Nelsonville after reports of an in-progress burglary. Deputies at the scene did not find anyone on the property, but a neighbor told deputies that the burglar had vacated the property approximately 20 minutes before deputies arrived.
Deputies were unable to find the vehicle that the burglar was driving.
Wednesday, September 9
Not a burglary, a retrieval
Deputies with the Athens County Sheriff’s Office responded near State Route 56 in New Marshfield following a trespassing complaint. Deputies spoke with individuals on the scene, who left after they retrieved their cow that had gotten loose.
Trailer theft
Athens County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to Lances Trailer Sales after it was reported a trailer was stolen. Deputies on the scene took a report. At the time the media release was sent out, an investigation was pending.
Active Dispute
Deputies of the Athens County Sheriff’s Office responded near Connett Road in The Plains after receiving a report of an active dispute. When deputies arrived on the scene, it was determined that the dispute was no longer active, as the parties had separated and one involved party had left prior to deputies arriving to the scene.
