The Ohio Valley Museum of Discovery will host its monthly adult Crafternoon. Held on the third Tuesday of every month, the event promotes a space to relax and socialize while expressing creativity. Crafternoon takes place from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

THRIVE, Ohio University's student-focused well-being initiative will host the Creative Coping Cafe, a weekly event in Lindley Hall, room 052 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. The event provides a safe space for students to drop in, learn and practice coping strategies and connect with peers.

The Concerts on the Green series continues with the OHIO String Ensemble. The series is presented by the Chaddock + Morrow College of Fine Arts and the Ohio School of Music with support from the Ohio Arts Council and Envisage Wealth. The concert will be held on College Green in the West Portico from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The Battle of the Greens series continues with its second preliminary round. Held at the oval in front of the Living Learning Center, the event will kick off at 7 p.m. and continue until 9 p.m.

The United Seniors of Athens County will host a Chili Cookoff. Held at the Athens Community Center, 701 E State St, the event will take place from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Campus Recreation will host its weekly arts activity in the Well-Being wing of the Ping Recreation Center. Held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., attendees can take part in a range of activities such as building legos sets, paint-by-number activities and playing with slime.

The Chaddock + Morrow College of Fine Arts comes together with Campus Recreation to host the Intro to Beat Making and Song Production. The event will be from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in Alden Library, 251. Intro to Beat Making and Song Production will provide a hands-on introduction to digital music-making tools and creative song-building. Jess Fletcher, a professor of music therapy, will lead the workshop and provide a live demonstration of how to create a beat.

The Athena Cinema will host the 5th annual From the Hills and Hollers: Appalachian Film Series. This year's series will start with a screening of Bluegrass Country Soul, a film depicting music that originated in the Appalachian Mountains. Becks Lipshultz will provide a pre-screening presentation. The event will start at 7 p.m.

The Kennedy Museum of Art will host local musician Emily Singer for a free outdoor concert on the front porch of the museum. The event will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., and light refreshments will be provided by the Friends of Kennedy Museum of Art.

Casa Nueva is hosting a Punk Show to showcase local music. Artists including Emmalea Deal & The Hot Mess, Street Food and Split The Diff are set to perform. Doors open at 9:30 p.m., and the show begins at 10 p.m.

The Ohio Pawpaw Festival kicks off its opening day at its new location of the SnowFork Event Center at 5685 Happy Hollow Rd. The festival will take place over three days, from Sept. 18 to Sept. 20. The festival highlights the history and possibilities of the pawpaw fruit through local vendors, live music, special events and a line-up of presentations.

Casa Nueva will host its annual Say Gay dance night. Presented by DJ Moose Knuckle, the event is open to all. The event will take place from 10 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.

The Novel Notion and Clutch Collective are hosting the Meet Cute Market, an adult book fair from noon to 5 p.m. Attendees will be able to browse books and bookish merchandise, as well as small business vendors and local artists.

The Catholic Ladies of Columbia will host their annual Ice Cream Social. It will be held at the Holy Family Center at Christ the King, 75 Stewart St, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Attendees will be able to enjoy a spaghetti supper, Larry's Dawg House ice cream and homemade pies as well as take part in raffles and a children's craft table.

Brookfield Church will host its Fall Party to celebrate the 15th birthday of the church. Free barbeque will be provided, as well as games and activities. The event will take place at the Richland Avenue Park, starting at 12:30 p.m.

The Ohio University Women's Soccer team will host University of Massachusetts Amherst at noon at Chelsea Field. The game will be part of Alumni Weekend, and the first 50 fans will receive a free Ohio University Magnet.
