Not everyone in the state of Ohio is a Buckeyes fan. Especially in Athens. Just ask my editor Vince Nairn. Or the briefly-famous Brandon Hanning (click here for the video).

The Buckeyes are coming to town Wednesday for a game that technically isn't all that important to the Bobcats, seeing as it isn't a MAC game, but probably will be much more compelling to the average OU student than most mid-week games.

So I asked 23-year-coach Joe Carbone if there is any sort of a rivalry between the Bobcats and Buckeyes. His answer was a resounding "no."

"We used to play them every year," Carbone said. "And they have a different coaching staff, coach (Greg) Beals is from Ball State. So we've renewed our playing.

"Everybody always views Ohio State because it's a flagship school. It's just another ballgame for us."

Carbone went on to squash any notion that OU and OSU are rivals.

"I don't think Ohio State and Ohio University are rivals in anything (any sport), quite honestly," Carbone said. "What are we rivals in? We're not even in the same league."

"We like to beat everybody," Carbone said when asked about The Bobcats' other rivals. "Ohio and Miami have always been rivals."
