Courtesy of Miami SID (sports information director) Jim Stephan, who, coincidentally, used to be the SID at Ohio, we now know the three scenarios in which the Bobcats technically could still make the MAC Tournament.

The key word is technically because two out of these three scenarios aren't that likely, especially as it looks like the Bobcats will lose game one to Miami.

It's important that Ohio grab some wins in this series against the RedHawks. But the Bobcats also need Buffalo to beat Bowling Green (explained in more detail here by my colleauge Rob Ogden)

So, here are the three scenarios in which Ohio could possibly make the MAC Tournament.

Scenario 1: Ohio sweeps Miami, 3-0. Bowling Green goes 0-0, 0-1, 1-1 or 0-2 against Buffalo.

With Ohio down 8-2 in the eighth inning, this situation does not appear very likely. The next one is probably what the Bobcats are depending on.

Scenario 2: Ohio goes 2-1 against Miami. Bowling Green goes 0-2 against Buffalo.

This appears to be Ohio's best bet. The Bobcats will need to win the next game of today's doubleheader and the Senior Day contest tomorrow afternoon.

Scenario 3: Ohio goes 2-0 against Miami. Bowling Green goes 0-1 or 0-2 against Buffalo.

This scenario allows for the possibility of several games getting rained out.
