Family, friends and community members continue to support the family of a former Ohio football player who died last week.
Marcellis Williamson, 23, died April 27 at Euclid Hospital of a blood clot in his lung. The next day, Ohio University and Williamson's family set up the Marcellis Williamson Memorial Fund to help offset funeral costs. As of 4:15 p.m. today, the fund had collected $6,708.
Williamson's father, Brian Perkins, said any excess monies will be donated to charity.
A wake and funeral service will take place at 3 p.m. Saturday at Watson’s Funeral Home, located at 10193 Superior Ave. in Cleveland.
