Ohio received two votes in the latest USA Today Coaches Poll after a 44-7 win against Marshall on Saturday.
The Bobcats have not been ranked in either the USA Today or AP poll since finishing the 1968 season ranked No. 20 in the final AP poll.
Ohio moved to 3-0 for the first time since 1976, and claimed the Battle for the Bell for the first time since 2000 with the win over Marshall.
The 25th ranked team in the USA Today poll, North Carolina, received 99 votes.
