Don’t adjust your spectacles if some of the players on the Bird Arena ice look a little small tonight.
Ohio’s Division 1 hockey team will take on local 7 and 8 year-old mite teams tonight in a two-period scrimmage part of a Homecoming fundraiser at 6:30. Admission to the “game” is free, but the team will be accepting donations at the door to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Athens County.
The team will hold a Try Hockey event for local youths after the game
But the highlight of the night will take during intermission, when Vice Pesident for Student Affairs Kent Smith and Dean of Students Ryan Lombardi will be on hand to announce the ten finalists for the university’s Homecoming Court. The two winners will be announced during halftime of Saturday’s football game.
