As the Ohio women's basketball team gets ready to begin its Mid-American Conference West schedule against Toledo Sunday, it has another big game to attend — the men's contest the previous day at the Convo.

Several of the women's team members regularly attend the men's games, but they are particularly excited to take in what has come to be known as "Gary Trent Day".

"I think our kids are almost always here for the men's games when they're (home)," Ohio coach Semeka Randall said. "They're really close with the men's program and want to see them do well."

Junior forward Porsha Harris is expecting nothing less than a win from her male counterparts.

"The crowd's going to be sold out — I don't even know," said an excited Harris. "But it's going to be real big though. We'll have front row seats."

Those seats will be at a premium, as the Convo has sold all of its promotional seats and will be nearing its 13,000-person capacity.

"We're going to be in the audience somewhere supporting," Randall said. "This is a great time for Gary. I've known him and watched him play many years, so it's really a special moment."
