The Ohio soccer team added a potential contributor to its 2012 roster Tuesday: former Dayton forward and midfielder Maggie Murnane.

Murnane, who will be a junior in the fall, played in six games during her 2011 campaign, where the Flyers went 19-3 and won their third straight Atlantic 10 championship. She was a preseason Atlantic 10 all-rookie selection coming out of high school, where she won three Illinois state championships as a member of the Eclipse Select North club team.

"We are very excited to have Maggie join our program this winter," said Ohio coach Stacy Strauss. "The winning experiences she's had, both with Eclipse and at Dayton, will benefit our team immensely. Additionally, her individual strengths including her size, post-up play and finishing ability will be a real threat to our opponents and help us find the back of the net with greater consistency.

Murnane will join a Bobcat squad that went 7-11-2 in 2011 and exited the Mid-American Conference playoffs in the first round with a loss to Toledo.
