Ohio not only swept Buffalo for its fourth series win of the season this weekend, but it also took home Mid-American Conference East pitcher and player of the week honors.

Freshman left fielder Tyler Wells earned the player of the week distinction because of his 6-for-14 performance at the plate over the last week, in which the Bobcats were a perfect 4-0.

During that span, he led the team with six runs, drove in four and had a home run.

Junior starting pitcher Seth Streich garnished the honor because of his efforts in the Bobcats’ 4-1 defeat of the Bulls Sunday.

Streich (3-4), who has been recovering from hamstring and oblique injuries, struck out 10 in the win and allowed only four hits and one run in a 120-plus pitch complete game.

Wells is hitting .328 on the season, the third best among the Bobcats, and is second on the team with a .525 slugging percentage and a .984 fielding percentage.

Streich has mounted a 3.58 ERA in eight appearances this season and has held opposing batters to a .250 batting average. He also averages 5.25 strikeouts per outing, only one off team leader Jason Moulton, who has started two more games.
