Ohio senior guard Tenishia

Benson collected likely the last award of her heralded Bobcat career Monday, as she was named the the Academic all-Mid-American Conference team.

The guard, who is nearing graduation, was one of 12 student-athletes named to the first team. Juniors Alesia

Howard and Symone

Lyles

were also honored as honorable mentions for the second year running.

Benson passed the 1,000-point barrier for the Bobcats this season, where she led her team with an average of 14.5 points and more than seven rebounds per game.

She also finished fourth in the MAC in scoring, sixth in free throw percentage and seventh in rebounds.

Howard averaged more than six points and slightly less than four rebounds per game for the Bobcats, but had four outbursts of ten or more points on the season.

Lyles

was the Bobcats' most lethal three-point threat, as she shot more than 31 percent from beyond the arc. She was also one of only four Ohio players to play in each of the Bobcats' 32 games.

To qualify for all-MAC academic honors, players must have played in at least half of their team's games that season and earned a 3.20 GPA.
