Despite winning only one match in the Baymont Invitational this weekend, a pair of sophomore Bobcats swept Mid-American Conference East Division Player of the Week honors.

Kelly Lamberti, an outside hitter, was named the Offense Player of the Week for the second time in her career. She led the team in kills in the match-ups with two nationally-ranked teams, in Kentucky and Oregon with 18 and 19 kills, respectively.

Lamberti also notched a double-double in the loss to the Wildcats, with 11 digs in addition to her kills. In the team’s lone win on the weekend against Western Carolina on Saturday, she recorded seven kills, seven digs and five blocks.

Receiving the honors of Defensive Player of the Week was middle blocker Serena Warner, who was a presence at the net against the tough weekend competition.

Warner was named to the Baymont Invitational All-Tournament Team with a total of 17 kills and 15 blocks in three matches. She notched a match-best six blocks against both Kentucky and Oregon in losing efforts.

Ohio (1-5) will host another tournament this coming weekend in the Bobcat Volleyball Invitational, as Niagara, Belmont and Montana State are set to compete in The Convo.
