For the second consecutive week, Ohio outside hitter Kelly Lamberti received honors from the Mid-American Conference for outstanding play on the court.

Lamberti was named co-offensive player of the week in the MAC East along with Akron’s middle blocker Tina Dimitrijevs. Lamberti, a sophomore, has now received the award three times in her career.

In this past weekend’s Bobcat Invitational, Lamberti was named the tournament MVP after leading Ohio in points, aces and kills. She led the team to a 3-0 record on the weekend.

She began the weekend Friday with 17 kills, reaching the 500-mark for her career, before adding nine more in the second game of the doubleheader.

Lamberti then finished the weekend with a team-high 19.5 points, 14 kills and 13 digs Saturday against Montana State.

She and the rest of her squad will travel to North Carolina this week for three matches, with the first on Thursday at UNC Greensboro.
