A pair of Bobcats received recognition Monday, Ohio received both of this week’s Mid-American Conference East awards for the second time this season.

Having obtained sole possession of the best record in the MAC following wins against Miami and Bowling Green this weekend, senior outside hitter Faith Robins and freshman libero Meredith Ashy were named the offensive and defensive players of the week in the MAC East.

Robins earned her first league award of her career, after recording double-digit kills in both matches played this weekend. Friday, she notched a season-high 13 kills and six blocks, before adding another 10 kills Saturday against Bowling Green on her senior night.

Ashy earned the defensive honors for the second time this season. She led Friday’s match with 25 digs, which was just one less than her season high, while she led again Saturday after recording 14 digs.

Five different Bobcats have received MAC East weekly awards this season, but Ashy and sophomore outside hitter Kelly Lamberti are the lone players to receive the honors twice.

Ohio will hit the road the next two weekends to finish conference play before the MAC Tournament.
