For the second time this week, senior catcher Lauren Gellerman received Mid-American Conference recognition, as she as named the female scholar-athlete of the week Friday.
Gellerman was named the MAC East player of the week Tuesday for the second time this season after leading the Bobcats during their trip to Seattle, Wash. last week.
In five games, she batted .571, hit three home runs and recorded nine RBIs. Gellerman scored a team-high five runs on the trip.
The senior also became Ohio’s all-time home run leader, as she now has 30 in her career and eight this season.
Gellerman is an integrated mathematics major with a 3.904 GPA.
The Bobcats will play their home opener Friday against Dayton, with the first game of a doubleheader beginning at 5 p.m.
