Here's an update of three former Ohio baseball players who are playing professional baseball:

Seth Streich, Pitcher

Streich was selected by the Oakland Athletics in the sixth round of the 2012 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft. He currently plays for the Beloit (Wisconsin) Snappers, which is a Class A affiliate of the Athletics in the Midwest League. He’s started two games this season, pitching 10 innings, compiling a 2.70 earned run average while allowing eight hits and six walks. The right hander has also struck out six.

Adam Russell, Pitcher

Russell was selected by the Chicago White Sox in the sixth round of the 2004 MLB First-Year Player Draft. He’s bounced around MLB, also playing in San Diego and Tampa Bay before signing as a minor league free agent with in Atlanta’s farm system in December 2011. Russell’s currently a reliever for the Norfolk Tides of the International League, which is Atlanta’s AAA affiliate. He’s made 85 appearances in the big show, with 86.2 innings pitched, a 3.95 ERA and an 8-3 record in four seasons. In 2013, he’s made three appearances for Norfolk, pitching 3.1 innings with a 5.40 ERA.

Marc Krauss, Right Fielder

He was originally selected by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the second round of the 2009 First-Year Player Draft. Krauss was involved in a trade to Houston that landed Chris Johnson in Arizona. Johnson was included in a package that eventually sent star outfielder Justin Upton to Atlanta. Currently, Krauss is playing for the Oklahoma City Red Hawks, which is the Astros’ AAA affiliate. He’s hitting .222 with three homers, eight RBI and is slugging .556. He’s the closest of the Bobcats from making a MLB appearance this season, as the lack of talent on Houston’s roster gives him a good opportunity if he can continue to display power in AAA.
