Junior-duo Melissa Thompson and Juli Accurso received All-Mid-American Conference honors on Monday, according to a press release.

Breaking the school record in the 1,5000-meters with a time of 4:26.04 minutes to place second overall, Thompson was named second team All-MAC. The Westerville-native had already won the mile at the indoor conference meet earlier this season and consistently cut her time in the 100-meter shorter outdoor event, after starting the season with a 4:41.49 minutes at the Ohio Open in April.

Accurso, in the meantime, earned her fifth first team All-MAC honors of her career, winning the MAC title in the 5000-meter race in a time of 16:36.55 minutes. The junior standout had already run a faster time this season, as she opened up her season with a 16:21.56 minutes at the Wake Forrest Open in March.

While Thompson’s season is over, Accurso will be back to compete in the NCAA East Regional championship in Greensboro, N.C. As of right now Accurso could make appearances in the 10,000-meters and the 5,000-meters, being ranked 15th and 47th in the events, respectively.
