Having started their Mid-American Conference schedule with a perfect 4-0 record, a pair of Bobcats received the MAC East players of the week honors on Monday.

Junior outside hitter Kelly Lamberti was named the MAC East offensive player of the week, while graduate student middle blocker Alexis Pinson  received the defensive honors.

Lamberti recorded a pair of double-doubles during the Bobcats’ two victories this weekend and has matched that mark in four of the team’s past five matches. Friday against Miami, Lamberti led the floor with 19 kills and 16 digs, before notching 10 kills and 10 digs on Saturday against Bowling Green. She also registered two service aces on consecutive points to help Ohio rally from a four-point deficit to win the second set.

Pinson led the Bobcats at the net this weekend. Against Miami, she paced Ohio with nine blocks, along with six kills, two aces and two digs. She then turned around the next dayand notched four blocks, four kills and three digs during the Bobcats' sweep of the Falcons.

Ohio also moved up two spots in the American Volleyball Coaches Association poll Monday for the third time in as many weeks. The Bobcats (14-2, 4-0 MAC) have broken above the top 20 and are now ranked No. 18 in the nation.
