After seeing Denver Broncos’ receiver Eric Decker drop 41 fantasy points on my bench this week, I just wondered to myself “Why…why didn’t I start him?”
After all the plugging and chugging and analyzing, I’ve come to the simple conclusion that luck is the biggest factor into winning in any fantasy sport.
Now, if you’re like me and analyze your fantasy team like your trying to solve a rubrics cube, than this might be a tough pill to swallow.
A simple equation usually goes like this when I’m trying to start and bench players:
“Eric Decker (third/fourth best wide receiver on team) + Good Defense (Chiefs) = Bench player”
or
“Los Angeles Laker’s Point Guard – Kobe Bryant = Waiver wire”
No matter what formula you use, there is no perfect way to calculate how many points you will get or to determine if you will win or not.
It’s simply up to luck and how the athlete does that day. Some days, Kyrie Irving might do well and some days he may play poorly. It’s just up to chance.
