After former coach Ryan Theis resigned from his position at the helm 12 days ago to assume the same job at Marquette, Ohio Athletics announced late Wednesday evening that former Belmont coach Deane Webb will assume the program's head coaching dutues.

Webb spent the past 11 seasons with Belmont and is the program's all-time winningest coach. This past season he led the Bruins to a 19-14 record and finished Ohio Valley Conference play 12-4.

In 2010, Webb became the youngest coach to reach 300 career victories in Division I, and he's also a voting member of the American Volleyball Coaches Association's weekly Top 25 poll.

"We could not be more thrilled to announce Deane Webb as our new women's volleyball coach," said Director of Athletics Jim Schaus in a news release. "(Webb) brings a great deal of head coaching experience. He also brings a great deal of experience coaching in the NCAA Tournament."

Webb will become the Bobcats' 12th coach in program history when he's formally introduced by Ohio Athletics on Friday.
