





































Tradition ensues once again in Southeastern Ohio at the Athens County Fair in 2021. The annual fair was canceled last summer due to the COVID-19 pandemic raging against the region. As the city of Athens races to encourage vaccinations, patrons enjoy a return to familiar life with the people, food and events that make the Athens County Fair unique and close to the hearts of those who attend.
The Athens Pride parade and street fair, put on by the Southeastern Ohio Rainbow Alliance, drew hundreds of attendees to uptown Athens on June 6, 2026. The parade had over a dozen different groups marching and the street fair included various vendors and resource booths as well as a drag show with five performers.
The Athens Festival of Colors, inspired by the Indian holiday Holi, features music, cultural performances and an Indian dance lesson took place on West State Street Park, April 12, 2026. Participants also had the opportunity to toss colored powder, a Holi tradition meant to symbolize joy, equality and community.
