'Hitler's urinal' to be on display in Alden Library this summer

A piece of tile on a plaque that says "Hitler stood here" is going to be on display in Alden Library's Ryan Room. It was a gift from WWII war correspondent and famous news anchor Walter Cronkite to his friend Cornelius Ryan who also reported on the war. He sent him a note that says it is from Hitler's bunker. The authenticity of the tile is disputed because the note is the only evidence of it being from the bunker. People working on the Ryan Room describe it as a fun object and hope it brings people to view everything else on display. That includes questionnaires from the war and other war artifacts. El Tenampa entrances Athens with delicious dishes and drinks

Phi Delta Theta's candlelight vigil in memory of MSU shooting victims

Ohio University’s chapter of Phi Delta Theta held a candlelight vigil on Monday night in memory of the students who were killed in the Michigan State University shooting on Feb. 13. Around 8 p.m. on Feb. 13, three students were killed and five more were injured in a shooting on MSU’s East Lansing campus. One of the students killed was Brian Fraser. Fraser was the president of the Phi Delta Theta chapter at MSU. From 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., OU students gathered on the front porch of OU’s Phi Delta Theta chapter house to say prayers and pay their respects to the victims of the shooting. OU celebrates turning 219 with Founders Day Birthday Bash

Ohio University celebrated its 219th birthday Saturday afternoon at the Founders Day Birthday Bash in Baker Ballroom. From 1-4 p.m., alumni, students, staff and Athens locals enjoyed a variety of performances, activities and food. The event was a collaboration between the Student Alumni Board, or SAB, and the Ohio University Alumni Association. Hannah Protsik, a graduate student studying education, serves as the early engagement graduate assistant for the Alumni Association. Part of her role includes overseeing SAB, which she said had previously led Founders Day events. Sights and Sounds: OU Gas Leak
