An alleged argument between Manhattan men's basketball coach Bobby Gonzalez and Seton Hall director of athletics Joe Quinlan, might cause a coaching shakeup here in Athens.
The New York Daily News reported yesterday that Ohio men's basketball coach Tim O'Shea received a second interview with Quinlan. It is also rumored that O'Shea is the new favorite to fill the Pirates' vacant head coaching position after Gonzalez and Quinlan had a falling out over Gonzalez's picks for his new coaching staff.
O'Shea is 83-69 overall during his time at Ohio and coached the Bobcats to a Mid-American Conference title and NCAA Tournament appearance two seasons ago.Football's MAC schedule finalized
The non-conference schedule might still be in the works but the Ohio football team finalized its MAC schedule yesterday.
The Bobcats are scheduled to open conference play on the road Sept. 9, against Northern Illinois before returning to Peden Stadium for a three-game home stint against Bowling Green, Western Michigan and Buffalo.
The home stand begins on Sept. 30, Parents Weekend, against the Falcons, and concludes Oct. 21, against the Homecoming game with the Bulls. Ohio finishes October on the road against Kent State.
The Bobcats will play three MAC games in November. Ohio splits road contests against Eastern Michigan and its season finale against rival Miami with a game in Athens against Akron.

The Ohio women's soccer team played two scoreless ties on Sunday, as the Bobcats began their spring season. The ties came against Ohio Wesleyan and Marshall during the four-team exhibition at Chessa Field, which also included Northern Kentucky.
Coach Stacy Strauss said she was pleased with her team's play but said she expected better results. Strauss stressed the importance of the spring season as a chance to work on technical and tactical aspects.

Strauss said. Most of what we do is about improving the individual players.
Permitted five playing dates during the spring season, Ohio will play a total of nine matches on those dates.
The next home match for Ohio is at 7 p.m. April 12 under the lights at Peden Stadium. The Bobcats play host to Cincinnati United Premier's U-18 squad.Athletes honored for weight room efforts
Four Bobcat athletes were honored with the All-American Strength and Conditioning Athlete of the Year Award.
The National Strength and Conditioning Association bestows the honor annually to athletes who showcase a dedication to strength and conditioning that goes beyond the efforts of their peers.
Anthony Gressick, Donald Jupp, Brad Young and Julia Winkfield are Ohio's four representatives out of 242 collegiate athletes chosen for the award. All are first-time recipients.
Gressick is a starting pitcher for the Ohio baseball team and leads the team in both batting average and home runs while Jupp, a freestyle and backstroke swimmer, recently finished fifth in both the 50- and 100-meter freestyle at the MAC Swimming and Diving Championships.
As a fullback on the Bobcat football team, Young took on the task of creating holes for the running backs and protecting the quarterback while, Winkfield, a middle blocker on the volleyball team, helped the team to an undefeated run through MAC play and a trip to this year's NCAA Volleyball Tournament's Sweet Sixteen.
Assistant director for the Carin Strength and Conditioning Center, Joe Fondale, nominated the four senior athletes to receive the award for their work ethic in the weight room. 17
